We got our I-171H in the mail yesterday. This document approved us as an adoptive family from the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services offices (which is part of the Department of Homeland Security.) Once they send a cable to Russia notifying them of our approval we will be able to bring a child home. The cable could have been sent already - but we will get a seperate letter notifying us of it. This approval officially completes our dossier & and it's on its way to our agency!
We've also been making strides here at the house making preparations. We purchased a crib & dresser and some other things (which at one point included a 3 wheeled wagon - yep, 3 wheels.) We were waiting for the dresser to arrive at the store & we'll be picking it up later today. We're going to make an alteration to this website here very soon - and put up a seperate page for photos. Since they've been accumulating here in the blog for some time now - we'd like to have easier access to some of them (for example, those crazy flea market days). And when we get the photo page ready - we'll post some pics of the room being readied.
Til then -
GO STEELERS!
