We received notification yesterday of our fingerprinting appointment at the immigration office downtown! Our appointment date is less than 3 wks away, and after that we'll be waiting on approval from them to officially be an adoptive family. THEN we will only be waiting on a referral.
Merry Christmas indeed! Well - it seems as we ran out of cards and time - so we've thrown in the towel. For anyone we missed with our Christmas cards this year - here's the latest & greatest:
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! Many folks have been asking & wondering how things are going for us lately. And we’re happy to say that they have been going very smooth so far. We started the adoption proceedings at the end of September, so by our agency’s timeline we should be finished and standing back here in the U.S. sometime between June and September of 2011. This of course is not exact and anything can change, but we’re happy to report that at this point in time all of our paperwork is in the hands of the Russian government, and the U.S. government. Everything has been submitted and we are now in the waiting stage. We are slowly making preparations at home for our new addition and of course for all of the travel involved. We are expecting to make two trips to Russia next year, the first one being approximately a week long & the second being from three to four weeks. We will be headed to either Moscow, St. Petersburg or Leningrad. Please remember all of us in your prayers & thoughts as we need everyone’s support! We’ve purchased a netbook so that we can keep in touch via the internet, email & Skype while we’re away. And we’ll be updating our blog with important news and announcements ASAP. So don’t be shy & keep in touch! We won't be missing it next year... if you're interested in learning about the real St. Nicholas take a peek here: http://www.stnicholascenter.org/Brix?pageID=23 They have lots of info regarding his origins, history, and traditions still followed throughout the many countries of the world. A very interesting site! O Who Loves Nicholas the Saintly O who loves Nicholas the saintly, O who serves Nicholas the saintly, Him will Nicholas receive, And give help in time of need: Holy Father Nicholas!* He who dwells in God's holy mansions, Is our help on the land and oceans, He will guard us from all ills, Keep us pure and free from sins Holy Father Nicholas!* Holy Saint, hearken to our prayer, Let not life drive us to despair, All our efforts shall not wane, Singing praises to your name: Holy Father Nicholas!* Refrain: O kto kto Nikolaja l'ubit, O kto kto Nikolaja sluzit, Tomu svjatyj Nikolaj, Na vsjakj cas pomahaj: Nikolaj, Nikolaj!* *Repeat the three lines of the refrain. |
